• Linux Mint: I was recently given a Macbook Pro from 2011 (yeah, ancient) and it was stuck on High Sierra. I figured there were some security risks and it ran like poo so I decided to try to flash a Linux installation. I tried Ubuntu MATE first, and it was fine but the display scaling was off and I got some errors. I switched over to Mint XFCE and now it feels like a blazing-fast new computer! Amazing. It has only 8 GB of ram and a Core i5 processor. I'm considering swapping out the old 320GB hard drive for a SSD and also replacing the battery and adding some more RAM.
